The Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90) or "Stridsfordon 90" (Strf 90) is a Swedish infantry fighting vehicle. In 1984, the Swedish army requested a unique vehicle with high mobility, air defence and anti-tank capability, with high survivability and protection. five prototypes were developed and were tested during extensive trials. The first deliveries started in 1993, and now over 1000 CV90s have been delivered worldwide. Its armor is capable of withstanding 30mm armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS). The CV90 has a two-man turret, armed with Bofors 40 mm cannon and coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. It also carries two clusters of four smoke grenade launchers positioned on each side of the turret.
Academy's kit is precise in every way. Details and options abound. Choose the single flexible tracks or the purist can construct the extensive, individual section, articulated tracks. The 40mm Bofors cannon is very accurately produced in metal, along with 28 photo-etched parts. Hatches can be displayed open or closed and the turret and cannon are positionable. Academy included decals, clear parts, two soldier figures, along with precise camo painting instructions to complete this magnificent 1/35 scale kit.
